Desert Bloom Floor’s humble beginnings can be traced back to 1974. We were originally established as “The Remnant Station” at University & Longmore in Mesa. In 1983 A&P came to be known as A&P Carpet Center. Under new ownership in 2020, we rebranded as A&P Flooring, and again in 2024 as Desert Bloom Floors. But our roots are still in the remnant world. Carpet installers from all over the valley know to bring their remnants to A&P because we always buy them. Carpet remnants are the leftovers from new carpet rolls. The biggest advantage of a using a remnant is cost; you can save up to 90% from its retail counterpart. They are great for temporary or “quick fix” situation. Because the remnants are typically smaller, they are perfect in low traffic (think closet) type applications.

The downside of buying remnants usually doesn’t outweigh the pro’s in the right situation. What you see is what you get, all remnants are sold “as-is”. This occasionally means you end up buying more carpet than you need. But remnants, by nature, often tend to be smaller, so we sometimes need to seam multiple pieces together, making them not ideal for high traffic situations.
